TUESDAY NIGHTS – OFF ROADING!!

Attention all Off Roaders – including Bashers who have mountain bikes in ‘The Closet’!

Chris ‘Baldrick’ Cunningham would like to start a TVPB ‘off road’ riding group on Tuesday evenings. The idea is to get out for some off roading that complements the other Bash rides and not to compete with them! It is planned for the rides to start in April and run through to September – so roughly British Summer Time, with the first one planned for April 3rd.

The focus will be on cross-country riding either in Teignbridge or on the edge of Dartmoor (within 30 minutes’ drive from Newton Abbot) and the aim is to be fun, non-competitive, non-technical and NO LYCRA!!! Ladies very welcome (they CAN wear Lycra!).

We will use the Website, TVPB Facebook page and the Icalander to announce the location and confirm if the ride is still on if the weather is bad.

Baldrick has a van with 6 seats + bike rack so can take 6 people with bikes. Plugger also has a van. The plan is to meet at 6.30 at B&Q Newton Abbot, then drive to the start point and drop off afterwards.

Several rides are already planned in Baldrick’s mind and they can be added to as things develop.

If anyone is interested please let Baldrick know either through comments on the website, Facebook, text, carrier pigeon etc. etc. so that he has an idea of numbers.

Sounds like a great opportunity to get out in the fresh air, enjoy more of wonderful countryside we are lucky enough to have in our part of the world and enjoy the banter of ‘The Bash’ for an extra evening every week!

Thursdays Ride

Attention All Bashers.

Please note that this Thursdays Ride (22nd February) will now start from ‘The Royal Oak’ at Ideford and NOT the ‘Bishop John’ Bishopsteignton.

TVPB OSCARS 2017

Sunday 11th February saw the Annual Oscars at The Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbot.

A very relaxing Pedal Basher led by Blaster (and a bit by Gazza!) preceded the awards and also incorporated the annual ‘Glide’ which started from a new location just outside Bickington and down towards Liverton. The male and female winners were Gazza and Beki Flower respectively.

Once back at ‘The Farmer’ everyone tucked into a delicious carvery and then settled down for ‘The Show’ once again expertly presented by our CO ‘Pottsie’.

A few beers flowed afterwards with reports that some didn’t leave the pub until nearly 8PM!!

Please see below  few pictures from the awards courtesy of ‘Always’ and ‘Bothways’

THE OSCARS 2017/8

Hi All Bashers,
On Sunday 11th February we will be holding our very popular “Bash Oscars 2017/8 Lunch & Presentations”  at the Jolly Farmer, Newton Abbot so you’ll want to be there!!
The rides that day will be planned by Blaster & Gassa these will also feature the “Mike Wareham Downhill Glides” (weather permitting).     After the rides we invite you to attend a special Carvery Lunch which will be served from 2:15 pm onwards .The awards ceremony will follow and we hope to finish by 4:30. If you want to eat then it’s going to cost £5 – HOW MUCH!!!!! – But only if you pay Bash tax!  Any others will have to pay £8 cos that’s what the meal is costing TVPB.
So, yet another fine example of what good value we give our Bash Tax Payers. However, as is normal practice, you must book and pay before hand if you want to eat ~ please note we now want your money ASAP and Tuesday 6th february is ABSOLUTE FINAL DATE for payment.
Sticky & Pottsie will take your cash but we would also appreciate help from any Senior Officers with this task. Remember that you can also pay by Credit Transfer to Sort 20-60-88,  A/c 90455377, but please email Sticky at dowen0666@gmail.com  if you do this.
A list of Oscar Nominees will be drawn up so if you have any recommendations please feel free to submit them by email to  ~  pottsie36.tvpb@uwclub.net
These must be received by Sunday 4th February. If you need any help or guidance please refer to our web sites the former tvpb.org.uk and this website for a full list of last years rides, news and 2016 winners plus there is an absolute gold mine of information in the Birdseye magazine section. Use It !!
If you were a winner last year can you please return your “whatever” to Pottsie so that it can be recycled for 2017 . These must be brought back by Sunday 4th Feb latest.
Finally you may have noticed that Myself and Sticky are not getting any younger so any help that you can give us with collecting money or with jokes or funny stories then please do not hesitate to volunteer.

SUNDAY BASH RIDE – SUNDAY 7th JANUARY

Hello Bashers and a Happy New Year.

This coming Sunday will see us departing from ‘The Dartmoor Lodge’, Asburton (next to Pear Tree Garage) at 11:00. We will be lead by Hatrack and there will be Roast Potatoes available on completion.

Historically we have been very well looked after at this venue so it would great if we have a decent turnout for the first Sunday Bash of the year.

ON ON for now and I look forward to riding with you all this year.

Gazza

New Years Eve Ride.

Good morning Bashers,

Hopefully everyone has had a good Christmas and you are now all looking forward to riding on New Years Eve and shedding some of the over indulgence! If you are then GOOD NEWS!!!

Spike (yes the submariner who we don’t see very often!) has volunteered to lead a ride starting from ‘The Albert Inn’ in Totnes. He has requested numbers prior to the ride so that he can let the pub know for catering purposes, therefore, if you are intending on joining him for the final ride of 2017 please send a message to bikingspike@gmail.com

This will be the final post of 2017 so I wish you all a Happy New Year and I’ll see you on the road next year.

ON ON,

Gazza.

TVPB CHRISTMAS RIDE 2017

Hello All Bashers.

Apologies for the delay in posting this update.

Once again an intrepid group of Bashers donned their best Fancy Dress to participate in the Annual Christmas Bash Ride. As per usual some Bashers obviously have more time on their hands than others and were able to display some awesome imaginations and skills! We had the usual assortment of Elves, Christmas decorations and Father Christmas’s, however there was also a diverse range of other characters ranging from Gangsters to Desperate Dan and Hatrack carrying monkeys to French Maids. HOWEVER the prize this HAS to go to Bob ‘Arsie’ Cunnighams tremendous ‘Elvis’ bike and costume – how long did that take to make!

Please see below ‘a few’ of the many photos taken on the day – many more are available on Facebook posted by a variety of Bashers.
