Bash Ride from NEWTON ABBOT Rugby Club on Sunday 29th

Hi All Bashers

This Sunday we will ride from Newton Abbot Rugby Club.

This is a special ride to remember those Bashers we have so sadly lost to the grim reaper since we formed way back in 1993.

No doubt we can all remember those happy times we’ve spent together with “RJ”,Jack Smith,~”Manky” Doug Flack,~”Tonto” Frances Popley,~”Snakebite” Steve Lawrence,~ “Moaning Geezer” Jeff Franke, ~”Farther” Mike Wareham,~”Noah” Paul Yates,~”Mayday” Chris Connel ,~”Tommy” Alf Atkins,~”Birk” Roger Wyman~”Ned Kelly” Mick Kelly,~”Pinky” Brenda Peers.  Three of whom were in fact founder members .

So, I hope that you will join us to celebrate their lives  at 11 am with a bike for a short easy ride if you prefer, or alternatively come to the club from 1:30 0nwards.

P.S.  If you don’t often ride on Sundays, or you are bringing someone new along, then it would be very helpful if you could let me know.

Ride for Rowcroft- Sunday October 13th 2019

Hi Bashers

I have been asked to put the Ride for  Rowcroft details on the Facebook/Website page: by a lady called Ella, if any of you are interested in taking part.

It is a great cause and I am sure Rowcroft have helped many of you, if you or your loved ones have been affected by cancer.  I know they helped me and my family a great deal when my my husband had cancer and unfortunately lost his battle at an early age.

Please read on.

We have just launched our fundraising cycling event  ‘Ride for Rowcroft’ which takes place on Sunday 13th October.

Being a charity, fundraising is what we rely on to be able to care for more than 2000 people in South Devon living with life-limiting illnesses.

Its time to saddle up South Devon… Ride for Rowcroft is officially open!.

Do something amazing on Sunday 13th October by putting power to the pedal to support your local hospice.

Complete a 24km Classic Course around some of the most beautiful South Devon countryside- the perfect way to enjoy everything this great area has to offer with fiends and family.

For a slightly different challenge, the 32km Haytor hill climb will return and will see riders take on a point-to-point extension of the Classic Course from Bovey Tracey roundabout, all the way up to Haytor Visitor Centre Coach Park, a steady incline all the way up!

Whether you enjoy a scenic Sunday ride or want to push yourself for that personal best, lets make this a Sunday to remember.

Sign up today!

The Bobbibal Festival 2020

Venue: YHA Dany Wenalt (Brecon Beacons)
Date: 07 – 09 /02/2020

This year the Bobbibal Festival returns to the Brecon Beacons.

It offers a weekend that promises from the moment it starts, the most fun you can legally have.
Awesome cycling, tasty wholesome food, 2 evenings of live entertainment and “ontap” alcohol.

The Dany Wenalt hostel it is a cosy 19th century farmhouse, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the apres cycling. It has access to some of the best cycling and walking routes in Wales, so is a perfect location for this weekend.
We have recruited a new “off road” ride leader this year, who is an amazingly skilled cyclist with knowledge of the surrounding area. He promises that his rides will be electric with awesome, techy and fast downhills -you will be guaranteed “the ride of your lives”. Road riding will be available with both groups meeting for a tasty pub
lunch.

This weekend continues to offer full board accommodation, 2 days of amazing cycling combined with 2 evenings of entertainment, dancing to a local DJ whilst consuming copious amounts of food and alcohol.

All this for an amazing cost of only £65:00 per person if staying in the hostel and £35:00 if staying in a campervan.

Early booking is vital to avoid disappointment as spaces in the
hostel are limited. To secure your place on this amazing weekend a £20:00 deposit is required ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Becky Heals Naming Ride

After a chaotic naming ceremony at Court Farm that resembled a session in Westminster, with even a prologue for the great grub, the speaker (Blaster) managed to get a consensus of votes to call Becky
“BJ”. Of course this has no connection with Maxine Thomas’s Hash name!
Other names that were whittled down were “Doggie”, “Stiletto” and “Beckshit” which during the heckling were added with names from WC that are unprintable!
Pottsie we need you back for Thursday namings with your dictatorship and bugle to keep ORDER ORDER!
All in all a great evening for BJ’s virgin ride.

Bash Rides 2019

Hi Bashers,

Just a couple of Parish Notices from Pottsie with respect to upcoming rides this month.

Sunday 15th September will be from The Exeter Inn, London Road, Clyst Honiton. EX5 2NJ. The pub is on the old A30 near the airport and has a very large car park so parking won’t be a problem. The route will be mainly flat on light trafficked East Devon lanes.

Sunday 29th will be from Newton Abbot Rugby Club. The ride is in memory of Jack ‘RJ’ Smith and other memorable Bashers – Manky, Snakebite and Tonto – who though we may have sadly lost will never be forgotten.

Again, an easy flat route to suit those who wish to cycle that don’t usually attend .

Numbers are required in advance, so snack food can be catered for back at the club house for after the ride.

Please can you let Pottsie, Cobbler or Blaster know if you are going to require food
