Please see below a letter received giving us notice of works being carried out in the Teign Valley over the next few weeks.
Dear Teign Valley Pedal Bashers
I’m writing to yourselves to let you we have a couple of road closures on the B3193 and I’m aware that the B3193 is very popular with cyclists.
Two road closures are required on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th September between the hours of 08:30 and 15:50 to enable several trees to be safely felled; to account for school buses and commuter traffic.
Please note that pedestrians and cyclist will not be able to go through the road works during these times as we have overhead working and large machinery moving about.
There are a number of local diversions on minor roads
These works are expected to be finished by the middle of October, depending on river levels and ground conditions encountered. During this time we will endeavour to keep closures to a minimum. Please find attached the official diversion route, which must follow the equivalent classification of highway. Lighter vehicles will be able to seek shorter alternative routes.
We will inform you of any future closures by advertisement on advanced warning boards at the site location and by email, with as much notice as possible.
Should the Contractor be unable to fully complete the works this autumn, they will need to revisit site in the near future when water levels are lower. We will inform you of upcoming works if this is the case.
We would like to thank you in advance for your patience with any disruption these works may cause.
